And this year's direction is south-southeast.

In order not to spill the seven blessings we receive from the mouth, we eat the whole roll without talking, facing the direction of Ehou (where the luck comes from). Do not use a knife, so as not to cut off the good fortune. If you want to make it smaller, you may want to roll it with half the size nori before make it.

*For vegans, replace the egg with avocado in the vegetarian ehomaki.
